José Riço Direitinho


José Riço Direitinho (Lisbon, 1965) studied agricultural economics and sociology and made his authorial debut in 1992 with his first work of fiction, A casa do fim. His work has already been translated in numerous countries, including Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, Spain, France, Britain and Israel. Direitinho is primarily known as the author of short stories with influences from fantasy literature, stories about ancient wisdom and lost and found loves. His residency came about as part of the cultural programme under Portugal's EU presidency.
