Indrek Hirv

Indrek Hirv (1956) is an Estonian poet and translator. His first collection of poetry, Uneraev (Dream Rage), appeared in 1987 and was then followed by another eleven volumes. The most recent works from this collection are Klaaskübara all (Under a Glass Hat, 2004) and Surmapõletaja (Death Burner, 2006), which reveal Hirv's fondness for European poetry. Hirv is known for his traditional, often European-inspired poetry, into which he incorporates translations of work by such poets as François Villon, Charles Baudelaire and Arthur Rimbaud.
