Saskia de Jong


The Dutch Saskia de Jong (1973) has published four collections of poetry. She made her debut with Zoekt Vaas (2004), which brought her a nomination for the 2004 C. Buddingh Prize. This was followed by Resistent (Prometheus, 2008). Saskia de Jong describes everyday occurrences in a colourful experimental language. February 2010 saw the publication of De Deugende Cirkel, a collection of poetry, with cut-outs, for children. In 2010 she will publish a collection in French for the Collection Biennale Internationale des Poètes in Val-de Marne. In 2007 Saskia de Jong was nominated for the Paul Snoek Poetry Prize and in the same year received the Poetry Day Prize.
