Gábor Csordás


Gábor Csordás (1950) is a Hungarian poet, translator, essayist and publisher at the Jelenkor literary publishing company, which he founded in 1989. He is also the editor of the periodical of the same name and the publisher of the cultural magazine Magyar Lettre Internationale, which is based in Budapest. He has won prizes as an essayist and translator, among other things for his Hungarian translation of the essays of Montaigne. In 2000 he received the presidential Medaille d'Or, in 2004 the Leipziger Buchpreis zur Europäischen Verständigung.
