Hannu Raittila

Hannu Raittila (Helsinki, 1956), winner of the prestigious Finlandia Prize, writes novels and texts for radio, television and newspapers. His work bypasses theory and clings to practice in a world full of surprising links between culture and trade, art and science. The personal questions in Raittila's novels soon become universal: what happened to Finland? When did we become like this? And why? Everything can change unrecognisably in the blink of an eye, as happened in Finland in the maelstrom of the recession.
