flemish authors in residence abroad

Thanks to Passa Porta's international exchanges and contacts, Flemish authors can also regularly enjoy a work residency abroad. Passa Porta has standing agreements with literary organisations both within and outside Europe.

In the past, through Passa Porta, Flemish writers also took on residencies in Ireland (Tyrone Guthrie Centre, Gerda Dendooven, 2013), in Poland (Krakow, Miriam Van hee, 2011), in Great-Britain (London, Rachida Lamrabet, 2011), in South Africa (Grahamstown, Jef Aerts, 2009), Wales (Ty Newydd, Eva Cox, 2009) and Prague (Prague Book Fair, Geert van Istendael, 2009). These work residencies fit within a specific project.

Between 2007 and 2012, six Flemish authors have enjoyed a work residency in Dubrovnik, Croatia (Stefan Hertmans, 2012; Frank Albers, 2011; Willem van Zadelhoff, 2010; Margot Vanderstraeten, 2009; Els Moors, 2008; Johan de Boose, 2007)
